Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Anthony Hamlet’s Contract Renewed
Despite having been reprimanded over an unauthorized trip to Cuba, school directors had no trouble in extending Hamlet's contract.

PITTSBURGH, PA (KDKA) — Pittsburgh Public Schools Board has voted (7-2) to renew the contract of Superintendent Dr. Anthony Hamlet. Those in support overwhelmingly mentioning a desire for consistency and allowing Dr. Hamlet to have more time to implement change.
Pittsburgh Public Schools board members held several virtual meetings this week to discuss technology and the Dr. Hamlet’s future.

Comments were read both for and against the renewing Hamlet’s contract. Some people were concerned about low test scores in the district, while others felt changing superintendents during a public health crisis would be too chaotic.
