Penguins' Evegeni Malkin's Home Burglarized; Valuables Missing
One of Pittsburgh's most prominent athletes was the victim of a burglary.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin's home was burglarized on Saturday as the team played the Ottawa Senators at PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins confirmed the burglary in a statement released Tuesday night as the Penguins were losing to the Seattle Kraken.
"Details of the situation will not be made public as this is an ongoing investigation," the statement said. "We are working closely with local officials and team security. Malkin has requested that his privacy be respected during this time and we will have no further comment on the matter."

Malkin confirmed his three Stanley cup rings are now missing from his Sewickley Heights residence, The Athletic reported.
The FBI recently warned sports leagues about crime organizations targeting the homes of professional athletes following a series of burglaries at the homes of several high-profile NFL and NBA players. Among the more prominent victims have been Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, both of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.
