Pittsburgh Teacher Who Allegedly Provoked Student Fight Criminally Charged

A Pittsburgh-area teacher is accused of encouraging a physical altercation between two students in his classroom.

PITTSBURGH, PA —A Pittsburgh-area teacher is facing criminal charges after being accused of encouraging a fight between students in his classroom.

Bradley Reiher, of Tarentum, is charged with corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children, according to curt records. Reiher, 45, is a teacher at Valley Junior-Senior High School in New Kensington.

According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, New Kensington Police became aware of the allegations after a video of the fight surfaced on social media.

In the video, police said Reiher could be heard provoking the students and instigating them to engage in a fight.

The fight became physical initially between two students before a third students became involved.

The incident allegedly happened in October.

Reiher and another teacher then broke up the fight, according to investigators.

Reiher is expected to be in court for a preliminary hearing in January.

Reiher's current status with the school district is unclear.
