Plum Bridge Project To Cause Greensburg Road Traffic Changes

A bridge replacement project could cause traffic headaches for motorists for months.

PLUM, PA — Lane shifts on state-owned Greensburg Road near Lincoln Beach Drive will begin on March 13 and last until December, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works announced Tuesday.

The lane shifts are necessary for replacement of Pucketa Creek Bridge, which carries Lincoln Beach Drive and is joined owned by Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. Work also includes installation of new pavement, curb, drainage structures, guide rail, pavement markings and signage.

During the $1 million project, traffic in both lanes on Greensburg Road will be maintained but moved, and lane widths will be reduced. A temporary bridge over Pucketa Creek will be constructed to maintain Lincoln Beach Drive traffic between Plum and Upper Burrell Township. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area.
