A social media post threatening violence at a Pittsburgh-area school is being investigated by police.

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, PA — Manor Township police are investigating a social media post circulating about a reported alleged hit list at an Armstrong County School District elementary school.

"This case is in the process of being thoroughly investigated and the investigation is ongoing," a post on the Manor Township Police Department Facebook page stated. "The school and the community (are) safe."

The post did not say which of the district's four elementary schools is the target of the alleged threat. But Lenape Elementary School in Ford City is the only elementary school in Manor Township.
