Police Probe Fatal Shooting In Pittsburgh Neighborhood

PITTSBURGH, PA — City officials are investigating the shooting death of a woman over the weekend in Perry South.

Just before 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to the 100 block of Hawkins Avenue for reports of a shooting. Arriving officers located the woman inside a residence with a gunshot wound to her head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

The victim's name has not yet been released.

Pittsburgh Public Safety officials have not identified any suspects in the incident.
