According to Pittsburgh Magazine, Grist House Command will have a 30-barrel brewing system, a full kitchen, four bars each with 24 taps, indoor seating for 140, three dog-friendly decks for an additional 300 patrons and private event spaces.

The original Grist House location in Millvale debuted in 2014 and two other locations have been added since: The Beer Crib in Butler and The Beer Market in Saxonburg.

The brewery is run by co-owners and brother-in-laws Brian Eaton and Kyle Mientkiewicz. They began the business by home-brewing on weekends together. After many experiments, tweaking, taste testing and with the support of friends and family they decided to leave their day jobs to open Grist House.
