Popular Suburban Pittsburgh Restaurant Suddenly Closes
The death knell has sounded for a popular Pittsburgh eatery.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Barely two weeks after being cited by the Allegheny County Health Department, Walnut Grill-Fox Chapel in the Waterworks Mall has permanently closed.
The location no longer is listed on the website of the Pittsburgh-based chain, which also has restaurants in Robinson, Wexford and Washington.
The closure comes after a Feb. 27 health department inspection revealed 11 dead mice in multiple areas of the eatery, specifically the bar and staff locker room. A live mouse was observed fleeing from the seating area.
