Reported Suicide Shuts Down Major Pittsburgh Highway

PITTSBURGH, PA — A portion of the Parkway East was shut down Monday night after a reported suicide.

According to PennDOT, all inbound Parkway East traffic had to exit at the Squirrel Hill/Homestead interchange shortly before 10 p.m. The highway reopened about an hour later.

Triblive reported that the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's officers identified the dead man as Bruno Lagana, 20, of Greenfield, whose body was found near the Greenfield Bridge.

A cause and manner of death have yet to be disclosed, but Pittsburgh Public Safety officials told the website an apparent suicide had occurred.
