'Shark Tank' Confectionery To Open First PA Location In Pittsburgh
A start-up dessert shop that received a big boost on "Shark Tank" is about to arrive in Pittsburgh.
PITTSBURGH, PA — A frozen confections chain that took off after its co-founders appeared on "Shark Tank" is poised to open its initial Pittsburgh location.
Crispy Cones is coming to a location along Route 8 in Hampton, according to the chain's website. An opening date has not yet been set.
Crispý Cones specializes in a sweet treat famous in European countries, including the Czech Republic. A Crispý Cone is a fresh dough cone, grilled rotisserie-style and covered with cinnamon and sugar or a specialty powder. The cone is filled with the customer's choice of spread, gourmet soft-serve ice cream, fruit and a variety of other toppings.

Founded in Idaho in 2021, Crispy Cones got a big boost when co-founders Jeremy and Kaitlyn Carlson made a pitch in September 2022 to potential investors Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, Laurie Greiner, and Robert Herjavec on "Shark Tank." They asked for $200,000 for 10 percent equity and eventually signed a deal with Corcoran $200,000 and 20 percent equity.
Crispy Cones currently has locations in Idaho, California, Florida, Utah and Tennessee. According to the company website, it has franchises planned for Arkansas, Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina.
