Spirit Airlines Bankruptcy: Here's What It Means For Pittsburgh
America's leading discount airline has filed for bankruptcy. Here's what you can expect.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Discount carrier Spirit Airlines said Monday it has filed for bankruptcy after an effort to sell the company to fellow discount carrier Jet Blue fell through. Spirit flies out of Pittsburgh International Airport and Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Westmoreland County.
In the short-term, Spirit said it expects to operate as usual. All tickets, credits and loyalty points remain intact, as are affiliated credit cards and other membership benefits.
The longer-term implications are less certain, as Spirit recently scaled back the number of its Pittsburgh flights.
