Steelers To Play Game In Ireland This Year; Opponent Revealed

Details have emerged on the Steelers' long-rumored 2025 game in Ireland.

PITTSBURGH, PA — One of the Steelers "home" games next season will not be played at Acrisure Stadium. Instead, the game will occur in Dublin, Ireland.

The NFL is finalizing negotiations with the Irish government to have the Steelers play a game in Dublin's Croke Park, the Irish Times reported. Their opponent will be one of the teams the Steelers are scheduled to play at home, the Green Bay Packers.

The Time reported that an official announcement on the game likely will coincide with Sunday's Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The long-rumored game will make the Steelers the first team to host a regular-season game in Ireland. That the Steelers were chosen to be the inaugural home team is not surprising, as the team's former chairman, the late Dan Rooney, served as the U.S. ambassador to Ireland in President Barack Obama's administration.

It will be the Steelers first international game since 2013, when they lost to the Minnesota Vikings in London.
