Steelers QB Target Aaron Rodgers Visits Pittsburgh
Aaron Rodgers, the Steelers' preferred choice at quarterback for the coming season, visited the team on Friday.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers was on the South Side Friday meeting with Steelers officials Friday, according to reports first published by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
However, the team's preferred choice to lead them under center for the 2025 season left without a contract. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "No deal at this time is close."
Rodgers' appearance in the city came after the Minnesota Vikings earlier this week said they had no plans to pursue the 41-year-old quarterback. Rodgers apparently was waiting to gauge the team's interest before deciding where - or if - he will play this year.

The New York Giants also are interested in Rogers. A decision on which team he will choose could still take time as his agent has advised him to wait before making a decision, per Pro Football Talk'sMike Florio.
The only quarterback on the Steelers' roster this year with any starting experience in the NFL is Mason Rudolph. The team recently signed him to a two-year deal after Rudolph spent last season with the Tennessee Titans following six seasons with the Steelers.
