Teen Girl Attacks Student At School, Sending Victim To Hospital: Authorities

The 14-year-old attacker, who used scissors to injure another girl, was in custody Monday, according to authorities.

PITTSBURGH, PA — One teen girl attacked another with a pair of scissors on Monday at a Pittsburgh school, sending the victim to the hospital, according to public safety and media reports.

Officers responded around 2:20 p.m. to the 900 block of Agnew Road, where the 15-year-old victim was suffering from multiple puncture wounds to the hands and head, authorities said. New Outlook Academy, a residential school for at-risk teen girls, is located in the area.

A 14-year-old attacked the victim, according to the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety, which reported that the victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition and that the attacker was in custody with charges forthcoming as of Monday.

Detectives were investigating the circumstances leading up to the attack, according to the department.

A spokesperson for the school told The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review in a statement that two students were involved in an incident requiring aid from paramedics and police.
