Traffic Restrictions Beginning For Key Pittsburgh Bridge

Prepare for prolonged lane closures on a heavily traveled Pittsburgh bridge.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Traffic restrictions are coming again on Monday for the four-lane Glenwood Bridge, which underwent months of lane restrictions and closures last year as part of an ongoing $4.9 million rehabilitation project.

The Allegheny County Department of Public Works announced that beginning March 17, traffic on the bridge again will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Expected to last until November, the lane closures are necessary for the replacement of 11 expansion dams, barrier replacement
and pier repairs.

The department warned that drivers might experience traffic delays on and near the bridge during the lane closures and urged motorists to slow down and use caution in the work
zone.
