Trump Inauguration Parade To Include PA 1st Responders
Butler County first responders to the July assassination attempt on President-elect Donald Trump will march in the inaugural event.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — First responders from Butler County, the site of the first assassination attempt on President-elect Donald Trump in July, will be among the 7,500 participants in the Jan. 20 inaugural parade.
The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee on Monday announced the initial list of groups that will participate in the event, which will occur immediately after Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance are sworn in. They include a variety of groups that will include the people who responded to the assassination attempt at the Butler Farm Show grounds on July 13.
In the attempt, Trump's ear was grazed by a bullet. A spectator at the rally, former fire chief Corey Comperatore, was killed and two other attendees were seriously wounded. A Secret Service sniper shot and killed the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, who opened fire from a nearby rooftop.

Comperatore, the past Buffalo Township fire chief and a U.S. Army Reserve veteran died while shielding his family from the gunfire. Marching to honor his memory will be Pennsylvania state and local police; county sheriffs; the emergency services unit/SWAT team; and fire, rescue, EMS, 911 and hospital personnel.
"What we did together at the Butler Farm Show Grounds as first responders, police and pre-hospital emergency teams on that terrible day in July is what we are trained to do in Butler County every day: protect and save lives," the Butler County first responders said in a release issued by the inaugural committee.

"We are forever changed by the devastating loss of our fellow first responder Corey Comperatore. We hope all Americans will pause today to remember the bravery and sacrifice of their own first responders and police, the expertise of their 911 dispatchers, and the skill of their local hospital emergency and medical staff and emergency management agencies."
According to the inaugural committee, the first responders will be the second group to walk in the parade following a U.S. Army contingent.
