Verdict Reached In Pittsburgh-Area Uber Driver Killing Case

A jury has decided the fate of the man accused of shooting a Pittsburgh-area Uber driver to death in 2022.

PITTSBURGH, PA — An Allegheny County jury on Monday convicted a Penn Hills man of killing an Uber driver and mother of four three years ago.

Calvin Crew, 25, was convicted of first-degree murder, robbery - inflict serious bodily injury, robbery of a motor vehicle, kidnapping to facilitate a felony, firearms to not be carried without a license and evidence tampering.

He faces a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Crew shot Christina Spicuzza, 38, of Turtle Creek, in the head while robbing her .

Dash camera video from Spicuzza's vehicle that was shown to the jury showed that she had begged for her life before bring killed. Crew, dressed in a dark hoodie and wearing a mask, held a gun to her head while she pleaded with him not to harm her.
