Weather Service Probes Possible Tornadoes In Pittsburgh Area
The National Weather Service is determining if tornadoes touched down in the Pittsburgh area on Sunday.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service is conducting storm surveys Monday to see if possible tornadoes struck in Westmoreland and Indiana counties on Sunday.
The results will be shared as soon as possible.
Severe storms ripped through the region on Sunday, causing widespread power outages, downed trees and other damage. Some structures were reported damaged or leveled in New Kensington and Washington.

The power outages forced some school districts in Allegheny, Washington and Fayette counties to postpone or delay classes on Monday.
An outbreak of tornadoes from a powerful weather system killed more than 40 people across the country on Sunday.
