Western PA Man Dies After Car Plunges Through Reservoir Ice
A two-day effort was necessary to recover the victim and his vehicle.
MERCER COUNTY, PA — A man died Friday when the vehicle he was driving broke through the ice-covered water of the Shenango Reservoir.
The body of Robert Humphrey, 72, of Hermitage, was recovered by divers on Sunday, WTAE-TV and WPXI-TV reported. The vehicle was located on Saturday. The vehicle and Humphrey's body were removed from the water yesterday.
WKBN-TV reported that the Mercer County coroner said the cause of death was drowning. Humphrey's death was ruled an accident.
