Western PA Restaurant Closes Location

ALIQUIPPA, PA — Leon's Caribbean Restaurant on Broadhead Road, which had been closed since late December, will not be reopening.

The eatery, which debuted in 2014, announced on Facebook that it is shutting down. A post stated that Leon's had fallen behind on its January rent and the landlord of the shopping plaza where the restaurant is located terminated the lease.

"We gave it everything we had, as you all can see from the improvements we made to the building and decor itself," the post stated. "The place is better than it’s ever been, and we truly tried to bring something fresh and vibrant to the area.

"Unfortunately and sad to say, but we didn’t succeed and we will be added to the list of 'businesses never last there.'"

The restaurant owner intends to sell equipment and furniture.

Leon's other location on Warrington Avenue in Pittsburgh's Allentown section remains open.
