Woman Charged After Gun Seized At Pittsburgh International Airport

FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA —A Bridgeport, WV woman is facing a felony charge after a firearm was discovered at Pittsburgh International Airport's main security checkpoint on Saturday.

The weapon was the seventh weapon seized at the airport this year. In 2024, TSA officers intercepted 42 guns at security checkpoints, the most of any airport in the state.

At 3:34 p.m., Transportation Security Administration officers observed a handgun within a passenger’s carry-on bag at the checkpoint and alerted Allegheny County Police.

Police determined that the passenger, Jessica Mann, 31, did not possess a valid concealed carry permit. Mann was charged with carrying a firearm without a license. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also notified.

Passengers who bring firearms into an airport security checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the TSA up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910.
