
Joan M. MacMaster, of Ambler, died Sunday, Oct. 20 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 82.
Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Donald and June (Sullivan) MacLellan.
She was the wife of Douglas J. MacMaster for over 57 years.

MacMaster was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University with a bachelor’s degree in science and was a dietetic intern at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.
MacMaster worked for the Nova Scotia government and at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston.
She was a member of the Philadelphia Cricket Club and Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Plymouth Meeting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Douglas J. III, Donald F., Heather MacMaster-Ho, Alec MacMaster, Karen MacMaster; and 21 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald F. and Peter MacLellan; and a granddaughter, Katie MacMaster.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.; and Monday, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 East Butler Pike, Ambler.
Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
