Saladworks Among 2012's Fastest Growing Companies

In this year's Best of the Inc. 5000, where Inc. lists the top 5,000 fastest growing companies in the nation based on growth and revenue, 172 companies on the list are from Pennsylvania.

According to Inc.:

America’s fastest growers span 25 industries, all 50 states, and metro areas ranging from Boston to San Diego. New York City had the most honorees, with 350--three more than runner-up Washington, D.C. While nearly half the winners had revenues between $2 million and $10 million, more than 50 took in over $1 billion.

Among the 172 Pennsylvania companies on the Best of the Inc. 5000 list, Saladworks ranked this year at number 4888. Saladworks, founded in 1986 and based in Conshohocken, is a franchise that sells fresh, healthy salads, soups, wraps, and panini sandwiches from dozens of locations.

According to Inc., Saladworks had a revenue of $62.3 million in 2008 and $67.8 million in 2001, a 9 percent growth in a three-year span.

Among the Food & Beverage industry, Saladworks is ranked 134 out of 136 Food & Beverage companies listed in the Best of the Inc. 5000 list.
