Attempted Break-In on West Avenue, Police Say
Also, a reported theft of an object you might not expect.

The following incidents have been investigated by the Springfield Police Department in the past several days.
Attempted Entry: A West Avenue resident reported that sometime during the weekend of April 29, an unknown person attempted to break into their home, police say. Reports say that police found that deck chairs had been stacked in the rear of the home to gain access to the roof. Police say that the unknown person attempted to force a second-floor window open, but was unsuccessful.
Reported Stolen Property: An Edgewood Drive resident reported to police that their trashcan had been stolen from in front of their home sometime on May 2, according to reports. It is unknown if the can was stolen before or after trash collection, police say.
