Mrs. Ruth S. (nee Sakal) Bartivic, 90, died suddenly on October 7, 2012, at Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Bartivic was a resident of Springfied for 61 years.
Mrs. Bartivic retired in 1984 from the U.S. Postal Service in Media, PA after 20 years as a special delivery carrier.  She was a member of Holy Cross Church in Springfield.

She enjoyed birds, cross point stitchery, and gardening.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her seven children, Joan (William) Curran, Christine A. (William) Urbine, Donna (Timothy) English, Jonathan (Kathleen) Bartivic, Maria (George) Jenkins, and Theresa A. (David) Getz.  She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and her brother John Sakal. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bartivic, in 1978 and a daughter, Ruth I. Bartivic in 2011.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, October 11, 2012, after 7:00 PM at the Kovacs Funeral Home, Inc., 530 W. Woodland Avenue, Springfield, PA 19064.   

Also invited to a viewing on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Road, Springfield, PA 19064 until the time of her funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.

Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA 19064.
