Smith a No-Show Sunday in Springfield
The GOP Senate candidate cancels Delco appearance with little notice.

It was a let down for the few dozen people who turned out at the Delco GOP "Victory Center" to meet Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Tom Smith Sunday morning.
Smith cancelled a scheduled 10:15 a.m. appearance at the office that serves as campaign headquarters for Delaware County Republicans. While no one at the office in Springfield was willing to go on the record about the question, many volunteers who turned out were told that Smith was in West Chester Sunday morning.
No official reason was given to Patch or to campaign workers in Springfield who showed up for the 10:15 event only to be told Smith wasn't coming. Some Republican campaign volunteers were disappointed but unfazed by the last minute change as they headed out with clipboards and yard signs to knock on doors and ask for votes in the last 48 hours before the polls open Tuesday morning.
