The Springfield School District May Student of the Month is Matt McKeon, a fifth grade student at Sabold Elementary School. Matt is a fun, friendly and optimistic student who makes a positive impression on everyone he meets. Matt has been at Sabold since kindergarten as a member of the autistic support program.
Matt has really enjoyed his time at Sabold. He has made lots friends, has many fond memories, and feels very connected to his teachers. He especially likes reading with Ms. Romanelli, visiting Shelby the turtle in Ms. Baiocchi’s room, and eating lunch and playing with his friends Colin, Lizzie and Aidan at recess. Matt likes to use technology in school, especially his iPad. It helps him follow his daily schedule and learn math concepts.
About his transition to middle school next year, Matt said, “I am very excited about going to sixth grade at ETR.” When Matt is not in school he likes to watch movies with his mom, play video games and play team sports. Matt recently took his first trip to Florida to visit Disney World, and had an awesome experience.
