5 Tredyffrin, Easttown Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

With the giving season nearly here, Patch readers should check out some of these local non-profit groups while considering local donations.

TREDYFFRIN-EASTTOWN, PA — If you’re like many of your Tredyffrin- and Easttown-area neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.

Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.

Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits that fill gaps and meet other needs in the Tredyffrin and Easttown areas.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:

  1. The Foundation for Learning in Tredyffrin/Easttown — FLITE ensures all students in T/E, especially those who face barriers to educational success, have the academic tools, opportunities, and support they need to succeed in school.
  2. Tredyffrin & Easttown Care — T&E Care provides short-term financial and other material assistance to persons in need in and around the Tredyffrin and Easttown township area.
  3. Surrey Services for Seniors — Surrey Services aims to create a leading, dynamic community for aging adults by developing groundbreaking programs, services and activities that encourage and support older adults to live well longer.
  4. Main Line Veterans/Berwyn Veterans Memorial — Main Line Veterans provides community-based support as a means of visually and practically honoring military veterans from the Main Line of Philadelphia.
  5. Paoli Presbyterian Church Food Cupboard — The Food Cupboard helps families and seniors in the area with monthly food baskets.
