A Fascinating Piece of History

A one-of-a-kind weekend tour will give visitors a first-ever chance to tour some of the most historic homes in Tredyffrin.

This house on West Valley Road was originally designed to be part of a development. Of course that was decades before what most people today think of as housing developments came along.

It was a tiny development with just a handful of homes. But just like many developments that came along in the second half of the 1900's the property was carved out of what had been farmland.

It is also the work of one of Philadelphia's most prolific architects of the early 1900's.

You have a rare opportunity to go inside, see some unique features and learn the history of this house during the Seventh Annual Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust's Historic House Tour. What you see from the street is nothing compared to the stories you'll see and learn inside some of Tredyffrin's historic homes.

The tour will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdday and features houses that have never before been part of this annual event. Proceeds benefit the restoration of the historic Jones Log Barn in Chesterbrook.
