Black Powder Tavern Features Outdoor Dining In Tredyffrin

The tavern has been in the same location since the Continental Army was stationed at Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War.

TREDYFFRIN, PA—More than 250 years ago, during the American Revolution, George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette stored ammunition in what is today the Black Powder Tavern in Tredyffrin Township near Valley Forge National Park.

The tavern was built in 1746. During the Revolutionary War, Friedrich Von Steuben used the tavern as a secret hiding spot for black powder ammunition for the Continental Army.

The tavern is a dining destination for locals and tourists visiting the park.
