BERWYN, PA — Conestoga High School's Renovation and Expansion Project is not quite finished but the project's progress will be shared in a community event, marked with an open house and ribbon cutting on Oct. 27.
The Tredyffrin/Easttown School District announced a Community Open House and Ribbon Ceremony will be held at Conestoga High School, 200 Irish Road, Berwyn, at 7 p.m. Oct. 27.
Although some components of the construction project are still being completed, community members have expressed interest in seeing the newer parts of Conestoga High and learning how these areas have benefitted students this school year.

"Enrollment at Conestoga High School is projected to increase over the next five years, which would have eventually resulted in a shortage of instructional space within the school’s current footprint," TESD said in a news statement.
In the winter of 2020, the District broke ground on the Conestoga High School Expansion and Renovation Project, which added and reconfigured space to accommodate growing student enrollment.

The project included eight additional regular classrooms, two additional special education classrooms, four more science labs, one more art room, one additional kitchen, a fabrication lab, a large flexible learning space, and additional smaller spaces for meetings, offices, and small group instruction. There are also expanded spaces in the nurse suite, library, cafeteria, student services suite, and health and fitness room.
Masks will be required at the open house for those two and older when inside the school building, the District said.
