Flash Flood Watch Issued For Wednesday Night

Saturated ground simply can't absorb any more water.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood watch for Tredyffrin and Easttown as well as most of Chester County. The watch remains in effect until Thursday morning at five. A watch means there is the potential for heavy rain that can cause when creeks and storm sewers are overwhelmed.

A series of storms is expected to move through the area well into the evening, bringing the potential for heavy rain.

The weather service issues a flash flood warning for North Central Chester County (primarily reading) until 8:30 p.m..

The rain comes after and several days of soaking rain in September.

With more rain in the forecast, saturated ground can no longer absorb more water causing it to run-off and form rapidly moving currents and prompting the flash flood warning.

The NWS forecast calls for a chance of rain every day through Saturday. Temperatures will start to feel more like autumn. the forecast high for Saturday is 59 degrees
