Health Inspections In Wayne And Berwyn Area In October

The Chester County Health Department inspected restaurants and other eateries in the Berwyn and Wayne zip codes in October.

TREDYFFRIN/EASTTOWN — Health inspectors paid visits to numerous establishments in the Wayne and Berwyn area in October.

Inspectors found some establishments to be in violation of health codes set by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

The Chester County Department of Health issued these violations during October inspections:

  • New Eagle Elementary School, 507 Pugh Road, two violations: plumbing issues, food employee wearing bracelets.
  • Valley Forge Elementary School: 99 Walker Road, three violations: pot holders frayed, food surfaces not cleaned, chipped paint near cooler
  • Woodlynde School, 455 Upper Gulph Road, one violation: facility does not have a certified food employee
  • Cedar Creek Catering, 511 Old Lancaster Road.: three violations: uncovered bread, no soap for handwashing, and no paper towels.
  • Kismet Bagels: 511 Old Lancaster Road: four violations: employee wearing used gloves, bagels kept in an open bag, temperature measuring device not readily available, and hand sinks not set up with soap.
  • Berwyn Little League, 915 Howellville Road: three violations: thermometer not easily available, septic alarm not working, chipped paint behind hot dog roller.
  • Donut House, 120 W. Swedesford Road: donut shelves made of stained sealed wood, three sink stoppers in the sink, no sanitizer strips, old oil drum at Dumpster, no certified food employee, exhaust hood not pulling air.
  • 7/Eleven Inc., 904 Swedesford Road: apple without guards, dented soda cans in the sink, sewer alarm not working, and no certified manager name in public view.
