Japanese Restaurant Is Coming to Devon Village Soon
Tredyffrin Township supervisors approved the transfer of a liquor license for the restaurant at 821 Lancaster Ave., Tredyffrin Township.

DEVON, PA —Plans to open Takumi, a Japanese restaurant, in Devon Village moved ahead when Tredyffrin Township supervisors recently unanimously approved a liquor license transfer for the restaurant at 821 Lancaster Ave.
The new restaurant is at the location of former Mexican restaurants in the outdoor complex anchored by Whole Foods Market.
State law requires a municipality to approve the transfer of liquor licenses from one establishment to another. There are 232 active liquor licenses in Chester County, a 759-square-mile county.

The license was transferred from Morgan Management Investments LLC, 329 Kennett Pike, Mendenhall, Kennett Township, to Takumi Kop Inc., Devon, Tredyffrin Township.
The license transfer is subject to approval by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Paul Herron, A Philadelphia lawyer representing Takumi, said the restaurant is set to open within the next month.
The operators of the restaurant, Eddie Zhang and Yvonne Yang, he said, spent $200,000 on renovations.
The restaurant has a seating capacity of 173 patrons. It has a small bar area and there is a possibility of outdoor dining. The plans call for 10 employees.
He said the hours will be 10 am. to 11 p.m.
