Big Lots is about to open its new store in the Valley Fair shopping center on Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin. The help wanted sign is up outside (it's actually a giant "NOW HIRING" banner) for at least 50 positions inside.
Big Lots Regional Manager Andrew Rasp says the store is scheduled to open in mid-November and the company is looking for people right now. He tells Patch the best way to apply is to come in to the store in person between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Rasp says Big Lots is looking for "store associates" who can move around from department to department as well as cashiers and stock people.

The jobs all start as temporary employees and the positions most often lead to permanent positions, depending on a worker's ability and desire. While the Regional Manager would not specify what the hourly positions pay he did tell Patch that many are "over minimum" wage.
Big Lots is looking for full time people as well as some part time workers for nights and weekends. The store hours are expected to be Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sundays.
