Pa. Beer Distributors Can Now Sell 12 Packs

The 12-packs can only be sold as such if the manufacturer designates it for sale as a 12-pack.

Beer distributors in Pennsylvania can now sell 12-packs, according to a legal opinion issued by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Two beer distributors recently sued the PLCB with the hopes of getting a definitive answer about what exactly constitutes a case of beer, WGAL News reports.

“Under the Liquor Code, breweries, malt or brewed beverage distributors and importing distributors can sell malt or brewed beverages to the public in two configurations: ’case’ quantities or ’original containers containing at least 128 fluid ounces,’ ” the legal opinion, issued Friday, says.
