Paoli, Berwyn Fire Companies Train for Heart Attacks
A joint drill between two fire companies hopes to keep the area sharp when dealing with heart attacks.
Hopefully, no one in Malvern will have to worry about a heart attack, but the Paoli Fire Co. is taking precautions anyway.
The fire company, in conjunction with the Berwyn Fire Co. and Paoli Hospital, are participating in a joint heart attack drill on Thursday at 11 a.m.
The drill, which is being done as part of Paoli Hospital's accreditation as a superior heart attack response service, will start at the Upper Main Line YMCA and conclude at the hospital's Cardiac Catheterization lab.John Ardiff, the fire prevention coordinator for the Berwyn Fire Co., hopes the drill will highlight a "continuous working relationship" between the hospital and local emergency service providers.
