Improved Walkability As Montco Town Partners With Synagogue For Pathway
Upper Dublin Township says the new pathway is being designed in partnership with Temple Sinai in Dresher.
UPPER DUBLIN, PA — Local officials are eyeing up a way to improve walkability in the Dresher section of the township.
The Upper Dublin Parks & Recreation Department recently announced that it had entered into a partnership with Temple Sinai to construct a new asphalt pathway designed to help pedestrians in the eastern Montgomery County municipality.
The new pathway will begin at an existing pedestrian crossing at Limekiln Pike and Dillon/Meetinghouse Roads and connect to the Mondauk Common Park, as well as an existing gravel path at Brandywine Living at Dresher Estate, according to park and recreation officials.

The pathway will be designed to be fully ADA compliant and will include a small bridge over the creek on the synagogue's property, the department announced on Facebook recently.
Officials said that most of the construction work will be done in-house by crews from the township's highway and parks divisions, and that the pathway is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Mondauk Common, which the new pathway will connect to, is a public park space that has pavilions, a one-mile walking track, basketball courts, a picnic area, playground equipment for children, playing fields and sand volleyball courts.
News of the new walking pathway seemed to be well-received on social media, as numerous community members commented on the project by saying it would be a welcome addition to the community.
However, residents also offered up suggestions on other areas in the township that could benefit from improved walkability.
