Upper Moreland Students Honor Constitution Day in Their Own Style

Students in the district participated in their own unique activities to help have a better understanding of what it means to live in the United States of America.

Each year, our schools commemorate Constitution Day with developmentally appropriate activities and programs for our students. Constitution Day provides the opportunity to reflect on our history in a way that is meaningful to our students, and to celebrate the significant gift developed for all of us by the founders of our Nation. From creating a “Classroom Constitution” with our youngest students, to discussing the Electoral College process with our high school students, the activities and programs developed by our staff for Constitution Day are intended to build understanding and meaning. It is my hope that the work we do on Constitution Day and throughout the year will help our students to expand not only their knowledge, but also their appreciation for just how special it is to live in the United States of America.

Middle School: Sixth grade teachers utilized Constitution Day to discuss voting rights. The students explored the evolution of voting rights in the Unites States through an interactive PowerPoint presentation highlighting landmark changes.
