Services have been announced for Centennial School Director Jane Lynch, who passed away over the weekend.

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — Services have been announced for Centennial School Director Jane Lynch, who passed away over the weekend.

A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, with a service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish at 605 West Street Road, Centennial School Board President Patti Crossan told Patch.

The school community — which covers Warminster and Upper Southampton townships — is mourning the loss of the 88-year-old Lynch, who served on the Centennial School Board for 18 years.

Lynch won re-election in November and was sworn in for a new term for the school board's reorganization meeting. She appeared with Crossan in a picture after getting sworn in by District Justice Christopher O'Neill.

"We will miss Jane on the board," School Director Flemming Godiksen said. "Having served for 18 years on the school board tells you about her engagement in the community. She also served as president on five occasions, and often was very direct with comments though she focused on serving the community she represented. None had more expertise serving on the board than Jane Lynch, where she had been involved in just about every committee at some point in her time on the board."

Lynch was the first woman elected to the Warminster Township Board of Supervisors and later the first woman to serve as chairwoman of the governing board.

Her commitment to civic life extended across countless organizations, including the Park & Recreation Board, Zoning Hearing Board, Library Board, Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, and as the township’s representative to the Wilson Senior Center. She was also a founding member and board member of the Warminster Soccer Club.

Lynch served on the Centennial School Board for 18 years as a school director and a school board president.

During her tenure, she chaired the Education Committee and the Ad Hoc Land Use Committee, and also served on the Operations, Finance, and Labor Relations committees.

A resident of the area for over 60 years, Lynch’s roots in Warminster ran deep. She was married for 65 years to her beloved husband, Jim, with whom she raised three sons. She was also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, two grandchildren in-laws, and a great-grandmother to two great-granddaughters.
