Trying to Cash in on Jackass Star's Accident
Pop culture entrepreneurs try to make money on Ebay.
n Chester County this week now has local ebay entrepreneurs trying to cash in on the accident.
Original copies of several of the region's newspapers are now up for bid on the online auction site.
While and obviously loved by his local family and friends, his national celebrity status is being put to the test on the open market. If Ebay is any indication of celebrity, Dunn does not appear to be big worldwide business.

Shortly after 9a.m. Friday a dozen "historic" area newspaper front pages blaring news of the accident were up for bid. Only four bids appeared on the Ebay page, the highest for $11.50 for The Phladelphia Daily News edition with a front cover photo of Dunn and the headline 'Jackass: The Tragedy'.
One seller was seeking starting bids of $7,000 for a pristine copy of the Daily Local News with the headline 'Jackass Star Killed'. After two days and seven hours there had been exactly zero bids.

An online report on The WHYY Newsworks site indicated that there had been auction entry that struck gold. An auction that appears to have closed on Thursday night had awinning bid of $11,100 from among 18 bids. According to the report, which features a screen shot of the winning bid, the winning bidder had sealed that deal as of 10:35p.m. Thursday night. In that context on Friday morning, $11.50 appeared to be a bargain.
