Bucks Co. Woman Killed In Wrong-Way Rt. 1 Crash With Tractor Trailer

Pennsylvania State Police said the fatal crash happened on southbound Route 1 on Tuesday afternoon.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The driver of a car pinned by a tractor-trailer was killed in a crash on Route 1 Tuesday afternoon, State Police said. Authorities said the 81-year-old Yardley women was driving the wrong way on the highway at the time of the crash.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M said that troopers responded at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday to the two-vehicle crash on Route 1 Southbound near the Trenton-Morrisville Bridge in Morrisville.

State Police said the woman was driving a 2024 Toyota GR86 northbound in the southbound lane when she struck a tractor-trailer on Route 1 Southbound by the Pennsylvania Avenue interchange.

The truck driver was taken to Jefferson Bucks Hospital for his injuries, while the woman was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, N.J., where she was pronounced dead.

The crash is being investigated by the State Police Trevose Patrol Unit.
