Lake Afton Cleanup Day Set For October

Volunteers are invited to help spruce up the lake in Yardley.

YARDLEY, PA — Lake Afton has been a popular outdoor getaway for residents of the Yardley area during the coronavirus quarantine.

Now, a day has been set to help clean it up.

Friends of Lake Afton has scheduled the cleanup from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 17. Volunteers may just show up or may bring their own light gardening or landscaping tools.

Coronavirus safety protocols will be in place, according to Friends of Lake Afton.

"Please help us spruce up Lake Afton and its public areas so that we can continue to enjoy Lake Afton, our precious town jewel, over the fall and winter months," the group said in a social media post.
