LMT Police Log: Golf Club Fence-Tamperer Strikes Twice

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department responded to several incidents this week, including a repeat golf club prankster.

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA —Police responded to a variety of reports this week, including those of credit card, unemployment, and cable fraud.

5:26 p.m. — From the 1000 block of Kathy Drive, a complainant reported four bicycles had been stolen from the bike rack.
5:31 p.m. — Someone on Concord Lane reported receiving an email from what appeared to be from their boss instructing them to purchase $1,200.00 in gift cards. They later realized this was a scam.

10:50 a.m. — Police on patrol on the 1600 block of Big Oak Road stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation revealed the 32-year-old male driver of Philadelphia was wanted out of Philadelphia. He was taken into police custody.
11:34 a.m. — A complainant on the 1300 block of Heller Drive reported someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.

Sunday, July 25

11:45 p.m. — A complainant at Makefield Highlands Golf Club on Woodside Road reported that someone removed fence posts from the golf course and put them across the road. A car struck the posts.

Monday, July 26

12:39 a.m. — Police returned to the Makefield Highlands Golf Club when a complainant reported that someone had once again removed the fence posts from the golf course and put them across Woodside Road, after police cleared them from the road earlier. A car struck the posts again.
7:31 a.m. — At Shop Rite on Big Oak Road, an unknown man stole $480 of merchandise without paying. Loss prevention obtained his license plate, and the investigation is ongoing.
8:35 a.m. — A complainant on the 1500 block of Candace Lane reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
11:03 a.m. — Police on patrol on the 500 block of W. Trenton Avenue attempted to stop a car for violations. The car fled and a pursuit ensued, ending in Hamilton, NJ. Hamilton Township Police located the car and took the 19-year-old man from Morrisville, PA into custody for possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics. The Lower Makefield Township Police Department obtained a warrant for his arrest.
12:14 p.m. — A complainant on the 1900 block of Woodside Road reported unauthorized use of a credit card that they applied for but did not receive.
6:18 p.m. — A complainant on the 2300 block of Weinmann Way reported that someone opened a cable account in their name.

Tuesday, July 27

12:08 p.m. — A complainant on the 200 block of Emerald Drive reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
3 p.m. — A complainant on the 1800 block of Lynbrooke Drive reported someone had applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
7:37 p.m. — A complainant on the 1400 block of Woodview Road reported that someone had opened a bank account in their name.

Wednesday, July 28

9:25 a.m. — Sometime overnight on the 900 block of Kathy Drive, someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed tools and a flashlight.
