LMT Police Log: Sextortion, Unlicensed Driving, & More

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — The Lower Makefield Township Police Department responded to several different incidents between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12, including a sextortion scam and unemployment fraud of $15,000.

Friday, Aug. 6
1:45 p.m. — A complainant on the 1400 block of Fox Hollow Drive reported that someone opened a credit card in their name.

Sunday, Aug. 8
9:57 a.m. — Police on patrol stopped a car on the 500 block of W. Trenton Avenue for violations. They discovered fraudulent documents, and the driver driving without a license or insurance. The 38-year-old Trenton man will be summonsed for fraudulent documents and related charges.
Monday, Aug. 9
9:01 a.m. — A complainant on the 1100 block of Lily Pond Lane reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.

Tuesday, Aug. 10
10:24 a.m. — A complainant on Fairway Drive reported their bank received a forged check in their name.
10:45 a.m. — A complainant on the 1000 block of Reading Avenue reported their identity was compromised and as a result, someone else used $15,000 in unemployment compensation. The fraud included changing their driver’s license address and cell phone carrier.
10:49 a.m. — A complainant on the 1400 block of Woodview Road reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
Wednesday, Aug. 11
11:52 a.m. — A complainant on the 200 block of Rock Run Road reported falling victim to a sextortion scam.
Thursday, Aug. 12
11:25 a.m. — A complainant on the 1600 block of Kathy Drive reported that someone slashed their car’s tire.
11:34 a.m. — Police stopped a vehicle for violations on Oxford Valley Road and Willow Pond Drive and discovered that the driver was unlicensed and using fraudulent documents. The 41-year-old man from Sicklerville, NJ will be summonsed.
2:09 p.m. — A complainant on Black Rock Road reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
2:22 p.m. — From the 1900 block of Quarry Road, a complainant reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
1:37 p.m. — Loss Prevention at the Giant Food Store on Stony Hill Road reported the theft of $128.44 worth of crab legs by a known female offender on Aug. 7. She then returned the crab legs for cash at a different Giant. Charges will be filed on the 32-year-old Lower Makefield woman.
10:22 p.m. — Police responded to reports from the 2000 block of Polo Run Drive of an unconscious man. After officers responded, they cited the 36-year-old Lower Makefield man for public drunkenness.
