Lower Makefield Police Log: BMW, Ford Stolen Overnight

Police reported frequent instances of unknown people looking through parked cars, as well as two vehicle thefts, between July 29 and Aug. 6.

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — The Lower Makefield Township Police Department responded to a variety of incidents between Thursday, July 29 and Friday, Aug. 6.

Thursday, July 29
1:33 p.m. — From the 1500 block of Derbyshire Road, a complainant reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
2:04 p.m. — A complainant on the 1100 block of Irving Road reported unauthorized use of a credit card in the amount of $1,100.
3:30 p.m. — From the 600 block of Leslie Lane, a complainant reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
7:23 p.m. — A complainant on the 100 block of Moon Drive said they received a call from someone claiming to be from their bank advising them there was fraudulent activity on their account. Upon providing their account information, $3,500 was transferred out of their account.

Friday, July 30
9:46 a.m. — Someone on the 300 block of Richard Road reported someone had applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
1:40 p.m. — A complainant on the 1300 block of Yale Drive reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
4:40 p.m. — Someone on the 1400 block of Buford Drive reported that a known person stole deer meat and tools from their garage. Investigation is ongoing.

Saturday, July 31
12:11 a.m. — Police on patrol were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Makefield Highlands Golf Club when they found cannabis. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Lower Makefield, was taken into police custody under charges of driving under the influence.

Sunday, Aug. 1
3:47 a.m. — A complainant on the 1700 block of Polo Run Drive reported that, upon returning home from a night out, they got out of their car and were punched in the face three times by an unknown man in a silver truck.
2:37 p.m. — Loss Prevention at the ShopRite on Big Oak Road reported theft by an unknown person on July 30. Investigation is ongoing.
3:03 p.m. — Police responded to a report from the Rite Aid on Stony Hill Road of an unknown man attempting to pass four counterfeit $100 bills. The suspect’s car was seen fleeing the parking lot and a pursuit ensued. Pursuit was called off on I-95 in Philadelphia. The suspect was identified, and investigation is ongoing.

Monday, Aug. 2
9:13 a.m. — A complainant on the 200 block of Cinnabar Lane reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
1:51 p.m. — A person on the 600 block of W. Melissa Circle reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
2:57 p.m. — A complainant on the 1200 block of Madison Drive reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
3:32 p.m. — A complainant on the 300 block of Saly Road reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
3:47 p.m. — A complainant on the 200 block of Emerald Drive reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name, and that someone had also attempted to open credit cards in their name.

Tuesday, Aug. 3
12:31 p.m. — A complainant on the 500 block of Southridge Circle reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
9:39 p.m. — A complainant on the 300 block of Ramsey Road reported someone had applied for unemployment benefits in their name.

Wednesday, Aug. 4
3:43 p.m. — A complainant on the 2300 block of Lakeview Drive reported someone had opened two checking accounts in their name.
5:50 p.m. — A complainant on the 600 block of Tomlinson Lane reported that someone opened two checking accounts in their name.

Thursday, Aug. 5
6:19 a.m. — Someone on the 100 block of W. Ferry Road reported that, sometime overnight, someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing was reported missing.
9:27 a.m. — A complainant on the 900 block of Overton Avenue reported that sometime overnight, someone stole their 2018 Ford Edge from the driveway.
10:46 a.m. — A complainant on the 900 block of Overton Avenue reported that, sometime overnight, someone entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing was reported missing.
11 a.m. — A complainant on the 900 block of N. Pennsylvania Avenue reported that sometime overnight, someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing was reported missing
11:08 a.m. — A complainant on the 100 block of W. Ferry Road reported that sometime overnight, someone entered their unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing was reported missing.
12:30 p.m. — A complainant on the 900 block of Greenway Avenue reported that someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and removed loose change.
1:40 p.m. — Police on patrol on the 500 block of W. Trenton Avenue stopped a vehicle for violations. Investigation revealed a fraudulent registration. The 27-year-old man from Trenton will receive summons for counterfeit documents.
9:05 p.m. — Someone on W. Ferry Road reported that sometime overnight, someone entered their unlocked vehicle and removed loose change.

Friday, Aug. 6
3:33 a.m. — Someone on the 900 block of N. Pennsylvania Avenue reported that, sometime overnight, an unknown person stole their 2017 BMW X3 from their detached garage. The victim used the BMW’s GPS app, which showed the vehicle was located on the 100 block of Darcy Avenue in Hamilton, NJ. Hamilton Township Police Department located the unoccupied vehicle and towed it for further investigation.
