Lower Makefield Police Log: Thefts At ShopRite & More
Between Friday, July 16 and Thursday, July 22, police responded to a range of incidents.
LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — The Lower Makefield Township Police Department responded to numerous incidents — including plenty of reports of unemployment fraud — since Friday.

Friday, July 16
11:30 a.m. — A complainant on the 1600 block of Polo Run Drive reported being the victim of a “sextortion” scam via Facebook.
3:14 p.m. -- From the 200 block of River Road, a complainant reported sometime between 7/9 and 7/14, someone removed two rolls of six-foot chain link fencing.

Saturday, July 17
3:32 a.m. — At Oxford Valley Road and Stony Hill Road, police responded to a report of a man slumped over his car wheel. Further investigation led to the arrest of the 41-year-old New Jersey man for Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was taken into police custody. It was discovered that he was wanted out of Philadelphia, and he was transferred to Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility.
10:35 a.m. — From the 1200 block of Knox Drive, a complainant reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
Sunday, July 18
10:37 p.m. — Police responded to Raab Drive for a report of an accident. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Lower Makefield man for Driving Under the Influence.

Monday, July 19
8:44 a.m. — A complainant on Raab Drive reported that sometime overnight, someone damaged their windshield and driver’s side door and ransacked their vehicle. Nothing was reported missing.
12:51 p.m. — A complainant reported from the 500 block of Heritage Oak Drive that someone had filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
4:12 p.m. — Someone on the 1200 block of Candlewick Court reported that someone had filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
5:37 p.m. — A complainant on the 1100 block of Edgewood Road reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
Tuesday, July 20
10:03 a.m. — From the 700 block of Stony Hill Road, someone reported that sometime between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m., someone removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle.
1:20 p.m. — A complainant on Lower Hilltop Road reported someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
4:16 p.m. — A complainant on the 600 block of Tomlinson Lane reported that someone had filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
4:55 p.m. — From the 400 block of S. Milton Drive, a complainant reported that someone had filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
Wednesday, July 21
9:28 am. — A complainant on the 1300 block of Buford Drive reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
10:19 a.m. — A complainant on the 1900 block of Woodside Road reported sending $500.00 to a subject through Facebook messenger for the purchase of a puppy. After driving to Virginia to pick the puppy up, the people who’d alleged selling it were not there.
11:33 a.m. — From the 300 block of Saly Road, a complainant reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
1:04 p.m. — A complainant reported from the 1200 block of Thames Crescent that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
2:26 p.m. — From the ShopRite on the 1600 block of Big Oak Road, Loss Prevention reported theft of $188.90 worth of baby formula. Further investigation led to the identity of a 34-year-old Lower Makefield man, known to the police department. Police went to his residence but he was not there. They then issued a warrant for his arrest. At approximately 9:30 p.m., police located his car at the residence and took him into custody for Retail Theft. He was processed and sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
6:43 p.m. — At the same ShopRite, a complainant reported that an unknown man removed their wallet from a purse in the cart while shopping. The man fled in a black BMW SUV.
Thursday, July 22
11:31 a.m. — From the 800 block of Hudson Drive, a complainant reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
2:04 p.m. — A complainant reported the theft of their green Trek mountain bike from the 500 block of S. Dove Road.
