Man Convicted Of Attempted Homicide After Morrisville Shooting

MORRISVILLE, PA — A man was found guilty of attempted homicide and other charges on Thursday, Dec. 2. His charges stem from a 2019 shooting that took place at the Bel Aire Trailer Park in Morrisville.

Thomas Zorrer, 38, was put on trial before Common Pleas Judge Brian T. McGuffin on Monday, Nov. 29. Deputy District Attorney Marc J. Furber prosecuted this case.

On Feb. 21, 2019, Zorrer, who was homeless, was living with his girlfriend in the victim's home in the trailer park. After an argument ensued between Zorrer and his girlfriend, the victim asked them both to leave.

Zorrer proceeded to pistol-whip the victim with a 9mm handgun before firing the weapon close to his head, grazing the victim's ear. As an already convicted felon, it was illegal for Zorrer to have the weapon in the first place.

After fleeing the scene, Zorrer was apprehended by police in Penndel Borough shortly after.

Zoreer was also found guilty for the additional charges of two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of felon not to possess a firearm, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, and possession of an instrument of crime.

The victim said he is still suffering from hearing problems as a result of the shooting.
