Pennsbury Swears In New Board Members

After the initial reorganization of the Board, three local residents made public comments on the swearing in and school operations.

FALLSINGTON, PA —The Pennsbury Board of School Directors hosted a special meeting to reorganize the Board and elect a temporary president on Thursday, Dec. 2.

Gary Sanderson was elected as temporary president by the Board. As such, he was tasked with overseeing the swearing in of newly elected board members

Secretary Chris Berdnik announced the certification of elected board members. Bucks County Magisterial District Judge Jan Vislosky sworn in all incumbents after they were named by Berdnik.

Lois Lambing was sworn is as School Director out of Region 1 for a four year term. She was also sworn in as a member of the Education Committee, Policy Committee, and as a Municipality Liaison for Lower Makefield Township.

Josh Waldorf was sworn in as School Director out of Region 1 for a four year term. He was also sworn in as a member of the Finance Committee, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit Representation, and as a Municipality Liaison for Yardley Borough.

Jim Prokopiak was sworn in as School Director out of Region 2 for a two year term. He was also sworn in as a member of the Policy Committee.

Linda Palsky was sworn in as School Director out of Region 3 for a four year term. She was also sworn in as a member of the Education Committee and Facilities Committee.

Joanna Steere was sworn in as School Director out of Region 3 for a four year term. She was also sworn in as a member of the Education Committee, Finance Committee, and as the school district's Wellness Liaison.

Jeannine Delwiche was sworn in as School Director out of Region 3 for a two year term. She was also sworn in as a member of the Policy Committee, as well as a Municipality Liaison for Falls Township.

The Board also approved the elections of T.R. Kannan as President, Gary Sanderson as Vice President, and Linda Palsky as Assistant Secretary.

After this, the Board opened the floor for public comment. Tim Daly, one of the four local residents involved in the recent lawsuit against the Board over alleged infractions against his and others's First Amendment rights, was the first to speak.

"We do expect that the members of the new School Board recognize that you did win by a slim margin of 53 to 47% difference, which were the closest elections that we've seen here in over a decade."

Daly, who was one of four men to have one of his previous public statements cu short by Board members, asked the Board to stop focusing on politics and to focus solely on the students in the school district.

"We have a new day, so let's make the best of it," he said.

After reiterating legal issues the Board has faced and providing legal documents on one specific case, Daly ended his statement.

"I hope that you'll do better than the people that you've replaced. Good luck."

After two more speakers, public comment was closed at 8:06 p.m.
