Threat Leads To Extra Police At LMT Schools

The added security at Pennsbury schools Wednesday was due to a report made by a middle schooler, officials said.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — There was an increased police presence at Lower Makefield schools Wednesday morning after a threat involving the middle school.

In a letter to parents, Elizabeth Aldridge, director of student services with Pennsbury School District, said the added security was due to "a report shared by a middle school student after school on Tuesday."

There were extra police at Pennwood Middle School, as well as at Pennsbury elementary schools in Lower Makefield, according to Aldridge. She said the additional security was ordered despite the fact that "the report did not concern the elementary schools."

The letter did not specify the nature of the threat.
